Mail continues to grow as a medium…According to the USPS RPW reports from 1980 to 2006, total First Class letters grew from a low of 58 billion to 91.9 billion over the last 26 years, an average growth rate of about 1.3 billion new letters per year. Read more

As we look across the marketplace, the envelope market presents an array of very interesting results for 2007.

PAPERback to top
The uncoated freesheet market has been down slightly in the fourth quarter. While we do not have the final numbers through December, moving into October, production was down 2.5 percent over last year. Read more

RECYCLINGback to top
Paper recycling markets will remain very strong in 2008 according to the recycling industry. One industry expert, Mr. William P. Moore, a paper recycling expert based in Atlanta, is predicting that the national goal of recycling 55 percent of all paper produced in the United States will be met by 2008, well ahead of the goal set for 2012 by the American Forest & Paper Association. With more hours being worked, injury and illness incidence rates were on the rise in the third quarter of 2007 according to the EMA Quarterly Safety Survey. OSHA Recordables increased by 13.34 percent; however, they were down over 34 percent from 2006. Read more
